Ways to Engage
"Workshops"
A Workshop is an educational learning experience designed for people who want to understand the ideas behind Being Herd & Seen™ before, or instead of, working directly with horses. Workshops are typically half-day events, often lasting about 3 hours, although the exact length may vary depending on the topic, location, and format.
Unlike a Clinic, which includes demonstration and participant work with horses, a Workshop is primarily focused on learning, discussion, observation, and practical understanding. Participants explore the concepts behind the Equine Mandala, including equine neuroscience, ethology, learning, memory, emotion, Intentional Horsemanship, and Horse Speak®. The goal is to help people begin seeing horses differently, not as animals to control, but as sensitive social beings whose behavior is deeply connected to safety, communication, emotion, and nervous system state.
Workshops may include PowerPoint presentations, video examples, group discussion, guided observation, simple awareness exercises, and practical tools participants can take home and begin using right away. Lucinda will use her extensive video library to help participants recognize posture, movement, attention, boundaries, timing, emotional shifts, and subtle changes in the horse’s state.
A Workshop is a good choice for people who are curious about the work, want a stronger conceptual foundation, or prefer to begin in a classroom-style setting before attending a Clinic or scheduling a Guided Working Session.
Workshops are scheduled well in advance so participants have time to plan, register, and make arrangements. New workshop dates will be posted on the website as they become available.
