What is "Being Herd & Seen?"

Sharon Wilsie's passion for helping both people and horses understand themselves and each other better led her to develop the system called, Horse Speak. Horse Speak is a practical system specializing in the art and science of the micro-gestures of Precise Equine Body Language Skills (PEBLS) based on 20 years of evidence-based research with domestic and wild horses.

Neuroscience is an extensive field of science, including the central nervous system, the brain, and neurochemicals - of which I teach only a small part. We explore just the tip of the iceberg, that which helps us understand “why” horses behave the way they do.

With horses, you must convey your intentions and show them what you are asking in a calm, clear way - without triggering alarm.

The most effective way to teach is with baby steps, followed by pauses that allow the brain’s neurochemistry to process. I will teach you how to convey intentions through clarity, timing, and release - showing them they are on the right track.​

Ethology is the study of animal behavior. This science was developed from the desire to understand how animals behave in their own environment. Ethologists study the spontaneous behaviors and responses to stimuli - again, in their own natural environment. Equine ethologists have studied horse behavior through careful observation and are able to compare their behavior in the wild with their behavior in captivity.
